The Amnesty International Toronto Office (AITO) is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office is located in the heart of mid-town Toronto, just two blocks north of Davisville subway station on Yonge Street.

In 2006...

"Aboriginal women are three times more likely to experience spousal violence than non-Aboriginal women."

"Almost 40% of women assaulted by spouses said their children witnessed the violence against them, and in many cases the violence was severe."

"53% of women escaping abusive situations were admitted to shelters with their children, and 65% of these children were under the age of 10."

"Less than 10% of sexual assaults are reported to the police."
